<p>My understanding of most test optional colleges is that while they accept students on that basis, when it comes to aid, whether merit or need based, they will want scores. Some colleges will even break it down on how much aid they will give with what combination of GPA’s and SAT scores.</p>
<p>Not true for need-based aid at any of the schools that I know, including those that meet 100% of need.</p>
