I got some questions. When I submit my application through common app to USC, am I applying to a specific college or to the university undergrad program?

For example, my first major choice is biology in College of Letters, Arts and Science. And my second major is biomedical engineering in Engineering School. How will university process my application? If I am admitted, will I be admitted by both college or either one?

Both the CLAS (Dornsife) admissions (main USC admissions, btw) and the Viterbi admissions offices will review your application. Each comes to their own decision. Should both decide to admit you, the first choice major you listed will be the one you get. You will not hear about your 2nd choice, so really won’t know what they decided. If you are only admitted to your 2nd choice, that’s the one that will be on your admission letter.

Best of luck.

is that mean if i apply to two colleges, both CLAS and Viterbi, I will have two reviews of my application separately by both admission offices? They will make the choice together to decide whether I will be admitted or the decide separately?
