College Selection Advice Needed

I'm a 2011 Senior starting to apply for colleges. I'm a GA resident but am more than willing to go out-of-state for school. My GPA is a 3.3 unweighted, ACT is 26, and SAT is a 1700. My EC's include Varsity Baseball, Key Club, DECA, and volunteering at an all sports camp every summer in a low income area. I know my grades and test scores aren't great but I need help in deciding where all I'm going to apply to. I'm looking for the true college experience (Big time sports, beautiful campus, parties, and academics). I have $500 to apply to wherever I wish. As of right now, my list includes UGA, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and LSU but nothings set in stone. If anyone could give me any suggestions as of where to apply that would be great. Any advice on my current list now would also be great.

My dream school is USC (Trojans). I grew up in Southern California watching and loving the Trojans. I've been to and around the campus and love everything about it. My question is should I apply there? All of my scores and grades are below their reported numbers. Am I wasting the $65 and time if I apply.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Will your parents spend the high tuition for you to go OOS?

They will be spending some as the rest will come from loans

I’m a GA resident but am more than willing to go out-of-state for school. My GPA is a 3.3 unweighted, ACT is 26, and SAT is a 1700.

[Parents] will be spending some as the rest will come from loans*

1) Stats too low for USC.

2) What do you mean by “the rest will come from loans”? Do you realize that students can’t borrow that much (nor should they). For freshman year, you can borrow $5500. That’s not much at all.

There’s a BIG REASON why students can’t borrow much for undergrad and that because it’s very hard to pay back bigger loans.

How much will your parents pay? That answer is likely going to determine where you should apply.

I recommend sticking with LSU, and Florida State. Although, you might want to consider University of Tennessee, Kentucky, Arizona state, and Purdue based on your prefferences and stats.

Thanks for the help

Take a look at Auburn
