COLLEGE SELECTION HELP- James Madison vs. Rutgers

James Madison University- out of state. total cost= 31,089 a year.
Rutgers University- in state. total cost- 24,589 a year.

i visited JMU and fell in love. i visited Rutgers and felt it was so-so.

I'll most likely major in Liberal Arts. Location isn't an issue. Social scene is a big deal for me

I'll have scholarships and my parents helping me for cost so the price of college isn't really an issue, but i'd like it to be as cheap as possible for mine, and my parent's sake.

There’s not much anyone here can do to help you with this decision; you just need to figure out if you love JMU enough to warrant the extra 36k. If you really want college to be “as cheap as possible” then the choice is obvious.

Well, you visited both and preferred JMU. It’s a little more expensive but that’s a personal decision. Rutgers is huge and it’s not for everyone, even at a good price. Rutgers is closer to major metro areas if you plan on looking for a job around NJ after you graduate.
