College Selection Help

Ok, here's the deal. I have 8 schools that I'm applying to with 5 more in the running. I don't want to apply to more than 10 or 11 schools. The list so far:

Skimdore
Amherst
Brown
Bates
Wesleyan
Brandeis
Swarthmore
Bowdoin

The possibles:

If anyone could add their 2 cents or try to respond to some of my comments/question that'd be awesome.

1) Conneticut College - Most likely applying here. How large is the preppy scene here? How noticable is the 40 60 Male v. Female ratio? Is Conn similarish to Bowdoin?
2) Clark Universtiy - This would be a saftey for me. Again, the 40 60 ratio. I also hear that Clark has a semi-alternative student body, and that Worcsester is a pretty crappy place?
3) Muhlenburg College - Another saftey -- only issue is distance. (Might be too close)
4) Dartmouth College - This is quite the opposite from other schools on my list, except maybe slightly similar to Bowdoin. The overwhelming frat scene is a bit disconcerting. Can a student who doesn't want to join a Sorority/Fraternity and drink every weekend fit in? I like the outdoors so that's a plus.
5) Vassar - Most likely not applying here just because I hear it is really alternative. More so than Oberlin? The 40 60 M v F ratio again.... How noticable? I also hear its really isolated and I don't want that. For Dartmouth isolation isnt really an issue because its a big enough of a school.

Dartmouth looks really out of place compared to the others.
