College selection help

I haven't really come up with a list of colleges. However, I'm interested in studying biology/physiology with interest in medical school or I'm possibly also interested in Economics. Cost is not really to much of a concern, Natural gas companies are tapping into some wells in our ranch so I'm lucky enough to have my parents paying for my education. If you could offer some suggestion based on my credentials that would be fantastic. Thanks.

Thanks

its sad because you're a perfect student for all of the schools but the SAT score will totally ruin it... i'm sure that you'll get your score up which means you'll have a likely chance getting into all but hopkins- which would still be a reach if your SATs went up 400 points

Get that SAT score up, take SAT IIs (if necessary), and take the ACT as well. If your scores go up, you can get into a bunch of higher ranked schools.

I'm no good at chances. Sorry. But that part about natural gas is really intriguing. Is there an essay in there?

I'd recommend retaking the SATs and taking the ACT. It's unfortunate that poor scores on either of these tests can keep you from getting into some of the colleges you listed, but if you work hard, you can score well. Good luck!

I'm definitely going to retake the SAT, take the ACT, and maybe SATII (if I have time). I posted this thread to also get ideas about other colleges if you have any recommendations that would be great and don't put too much stock in my SAT scores. I also had another question about the selection process of Colleges according to Collegeboard school have very important admission factors, important admission factors, and consideration. Can anybody define these levels by saying how crucial they are or does it vary from college to college?

If you can get the SATs up, I think you should consider some of the top-flight LACs with great balance between social sciences and natural sciences, e.g., Bates, Bowdoin, Bryn Mawr, Carleton, Grinnell, Haverford, Kenyon, Macalester, Middlebury, Mt. Holyoke, Oberlin, Smith, Trinity (CT), Wellesley

Some of the LACs suggested by other posters are SAT optional meaning you don't have to submit your SATs or ACTs if they don't go up. I know Bates and Bowdoin are SAT optional; you can research some of the other schools on pointoforder's list and see if you can apply without SATs.

The National Center for Fair & Open Testing | FairTest has the list of schools that dont require SATs
