<p>I am a sophomore at IIT(Indian Institute of Technology),Madras,India in Mechanical Engineering.I am doing pretty good with a current cgpa of 9.63.I am planning to do masters in the USA.Can someone plz tell me about which US universities are good for masters in mechanical engineering?Also,what activities or extra curriculars should i get into to get into the top 10 colleges for mech for masters?</p>
<p>Extracurriculars mean nothing for graduate admission. You need strong academics, a passable GRE score and research experience.</p>

<p>You have to find professors who are doing research and volunteer in their labs. I am not sure that this is very common at an IIT but it is pretty much the only way.</p>
