College Show Season

PSU is doing Urinetown in the fall and Parade in the spring!

In response to BroadwayWannabe's query

Musicals for next year are:
Urinetown by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis
Berlin to Broadway: A revue of composer Kurt Weill
The Woman Upstairs by Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk (hopefully, as long as Kerrigan and Lowdermilk are available to work on it with us)

Plays for next year:
Sherlock Holmes: The Speckled Band by Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle (performed by Neill Hartley--faculty)
Venus by Suzan Lori-Parks
Private Wars/Laundry and Bourbon by James McClure
The Madwoman of Chaillot by Jean Giraudoux
My Name is Leni R... and I am an Artist by Irene Baird (performed by Irene Baird--faculty)
You Can't Take it With You by George S. Kauffman & Moss Hart
Equinox: Student Play Festival - Student written, directed, performed

and... umm... a TBA show (could be a musical, could be a play) in a first semester studio spot.

The musicals next year at OU (University of Oklahoma) are Once Upon a Mattress (fall) and Company (spring). (They did Urinetown last fall). I don't know what the straight plays and other performance opportunities are going to be, but those are the musicals.

Hi all ... This is my first post here, but I've been reading for weeks.

Wow > It does seem like so many schools are doing Urinetown! And I can see why. We did it at my high school and it was great (perhaps the title seemed too contraversial for our island of mainly elders, though).

Haha- The Dramat at Yale is doing Urinetown as the big musical of the year, too!

The University of Miami will be doing:

The World Goes Round
A Midsummer Nights Dream
A New Brain
Brighton Beach Memoirs
Broadway Bound
On The Town

Here's CCM's 2006-2007 Season:
Oct. 25-29 - "The Lady's Not for Burning"
Nov. 16-19 - "The Pajama Game"
Feb. 8-11 - "The Elixir of Love"
Feb. 22-March 4 - "The Full Monty"
April 18-22 - "Charley's Aunt"

the other CCM musicals besides Pajama Game and Full Monty are Cabaret, Robber Bridegroom, and The Cradle Will Rock. The latter three will probably be in the studio theatre if I was guessing.

Didn't University of Miami already do A New Brain? I vaguely remember seeing some photos of it on their website...maybe I was dreaming it? In reference to the CCM season: I have to say that The Full Monty couldn't be a better choice!!! What a fantastic show that can really show off some great talent. If I can, I'm gonna come out to Cincinnatti to see it.

Michigan is also doing PAJAMA GAME in the fall - THE WHO'S TOMMY in the spring - and their studio musical (done in the fall) has yet to be announced.
