They're still doing construction on my college! And what is with this eyesore-a multi-story building composed of drywall and metal frames is being built between the buildings at the center of the campus. How will I get from one side to the other without debris from the bulldozers and jackhammers cascading down on my jacket or delivering ailment to my car? Why cannot the powers-that-be finish construction during the summer term?

yeah, construction is annoying.
I'm going to be on a tiny campus, and the whole student center is being renovated. it'll be really nice when it's done, but for now one whole side of the campus is basically a construction zone.

I think basically every school is constantly under construction

Buy a tank. Wear a helmet and body armor (and hearing protection). Problems solved.

Many colleges have construction going on of some sort all the time.

Why can't they finish during the summer term? Because it takes years to put up a new building.

I thought the summer was several years long.

Did you think they could build everything during the summer? My school is under heavy construction right now (dorms are getting renovated left and right and two new ones are going up, along with a new athletic facility soon) and it's annoying, but growth has to happen sometime.

yep, schools always need to update their facilities and such. Sometimes the improvements are more out of the way, and sometimes they are right by where everyone has to walk.

Ha, my school is the King of Bullsh-t Construction That NEVER Ends. So, right now, they are currently building: new engineering buildings (ALMOST done, will be ready for Spring sem.), a new Student Center (supposed to be done fall 2008), and they just started digging up for new dorms (to be completed fall 2009). This is in addition to the MASSIVE AMOUNTS of construction going on in town right next to campus with tons of new condos/apartments going up all over the place. The main street that runs along the west side of campus is a NIGHTMARE right now, because there's university construction on the left and DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET is city construction of apartments. Plus, the new construction for the fall 2009 dorms tore out a huge section of student parking, so traffic is more clogged than ever.

I agree get a tank. In fact they sell it in amazon lol

people who bought this item also bought wonder bread and bananas, haha.

grocery list:
wonder bread
land cruiser tank
bananas

They also sell 'relaxman' relaxation capsule and used to sell pink g-suits (999,999,999)

That. Is. Awesome.

About construction though, I was at a summer camp at Skidmore recently, and they finished construction on an improved dining hall months ago, but they had to put in the grass in the quad again, because it was destroyed.

So, everyone likes to play frisbee, and it takes a lot of room. Well, one is a bit more prone to get whacked by a stray one when half the quad (which was new, pristine, lovely-looking grass) is off limits.

Construction sucks.

Heh, that is a very nice find.

"I think basically every school is constantly under construction"

Pretty much, on all the tours I went on all of them, there was at least one part where the guide would go "and right here is where the _____ hall of _____ will be which will be ready in 200X."
