Thank you!

I know someone who went to a screenwriting program at UCLA. Sorry, I don't know if it was an undergraduate major or a graduate program. I suspect it was a graduate program. I think it was highly regarded.

You may want to look into Bennington, if you would like a small LaC

Thank you for the suggestions! Anymore? :)

bard, emerson, suny-purchase, hampshire all offer screen-writing as a major

USC is obvious

You don't necessarily have to major in screenwriting...I know of people who want to write for the screen who major in English and/or film studies. There's always grad school; my cousin went to UCLA for that.

Yah. My SAT is 2140. IB Candidate also. Was originally applying to alot of LACs but then also decided to pursue screenwriting, since I love writing. For that, I added 3 schools to my list:
1. Chapman University (Orange County, CA) Dodge College for Film and Media Arts Screenwriting Program - 14% acceptance rate
2. NYU Tisch School of the Arts Department for Dramatic writing - 14% acceptance rate, however, they have a much stronger applicant pool, so your definitely gonna need experts editing your application. I contacted a guy that went to my school a couple years ago and is now in the program.
3. Bard. The only reason why I added it, since I live in CA and probably couldn't stand the gray skies 24/7/30, is because they offered screenwriting as well as pre-law. Though screenwriting is a major, its not a separate nor particularly selective program.

NOT USC. They site having over thousands of applicants for their screenwriting program each year, and accept only like 30. Thats like a 3% acceptance rate!!!! Don't even try unless you're absolutely pro.

Well, there's my story and two-cents, let me know if it was helpful!

Oh forgot to mention I also have a formally tested, in seminar, by cognitive analyst, verbal IQ of 154

Why not apply to USC? Yes, it is extremely selective in the School of Cinematic Arts. Perhaps your writing gift is unique. The major at SC is Writing for Screen and Television.
If you do not take the opportunity, you cannot be selected.

Have a safety school on your list for this major.

Carnegie Mellon has an amazing creative writing program as well as a top tier CFA/Theatre department.

wait Bard doesn’t have a special program for screenwriting?
is it just Bard College at Simon’s Rock?
sorry I just recently became interested in Bard because a lot of people at my school chose to apply there as a safety school (it’s at least semi-close to the city and people seem to think it’s good because they confuse it with Simon’s Rock)
anyways, sorry I’m getting off topic
but yeah a lot of people (well really like 4) are now going to Bard and I was thinking about applying
but I’m not really sure if I’d be into it if it doesn’t have an intense program like NYU Tisch (dramatic writing), USC (writing for screen and television), and SUNY Purchase (dramatic writing)
