My D is a good student, she is well rounded she's in a sport and also in few clubs and has leadership roles in two of her activities.

She is hardworking and motivated, yet she doesnt test well. She has a 3.2 GPA and 1300 SAT.

Any suggestions for small/medium colleges in the West that would be good for her?

Willamette University in Salem, Oregon is a good school that fits her stats, as is Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. Both are small, liberal arts schools.

She should look at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. It’s right near Canada and absolutely gorgeous. My boyfriend chose it over St. Olaf and Lawrence U.

If she wants something smaller, she might like Seattle University.

I think there is a thread in the Parents Forum about schools for 3.0 to 3.3 kids.

My D has a bit higher GPA, but also does not test well. We are in CA so only considering CA schools.

You might look at U of Redlands or LaVerne University, if you are interested in private schools.

Can you afford OOS schools? What is your home state?

Washington: Evergreen State College, Western Washington University, University of Puget Sound, Gonzaga University.

Oregon: Lewis & Clark College, Linfield College, University of Portland, Portland State University.

California: Lesser UCs, University of Redlands, Whittier College, maybe Occidental College

^ Many of those would be big reaches. For instance L&C only has 9.3% with <3.25 GPA. <a href=“http://www.lclark.edu/live/files/7196-cdsc2010pdf[/url] ”>http://www.lclark.edu/live/files/7196-cdsc2010pdf
;

How about test optional schools if that 1300 is out of 2400? [SAT/ACT Optional 4-Year Universities | FairTest](<a href=“http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional]SAT/ACT ”>ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest )
