<p>hello everyone.......i m new here. I m final high school student in India. Next year i will apply to colleges (most probably foreign) so wanted to get a few suggestions.
I have huge interest in machines, physics, how things work and want to major in mech. engineering. Unlike other students i do not posses any medals, great achievements in studies, practical projects. I know for foreign admission you need to have a good record of studies which i have never even tried to make so I'll have a setback for that. i am going to give all the international test SATs, APs, etc.( i m not aware of all the tests required) and hope to perform well in them as i m preparing for IITJEE which has higher level than SAT(that's what i hve heard). I want to know the top colleges who are unbiased of race or origin in admissions, gives more priority to the essay of the student and less priority to academics and ECs. My essay is the only incentive to me in my admission application. It is only through the essay that i can actually present the 'true me' and prove myself worthy of being in their college. Can anyone suggest me 5-6 colleges with their world ranks which can admit me (considering my essay to be perfect in terms of persuasion).
Thank you</p>
<p>Bump bump bump</p>
<p>You need to include your</p>
<p>-grades
-SAT score
-what you can afford, if you need FA
-what region of the US you prefer to be in
-what size of school you prefer</p>
<p>If your grades and test scores are poor, and you need FA, there are very few schools which might take you, one of which is U Alabama.</p>
<p>as already said, i haven’t given any international tests yet but will be giving soon. I am expecting my sat score to be between 2200-2300 or maybe more than that. I don’t have any idea of which state to go, i just want to be in a good renowned college. and what do you mean by grades?</p>
<p>Grades are the score you get after you take a class. Colleges will look at the series of courses you took, the grades you received and your overall gpa.
[Grading</a> (education) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_(education)]Grading”>Grade - Wikipedia)</p>
<p>If you think you can get into a college just based on your essay, you are mistaken.</p>
<p>actually there is no such kind of grade system in India. All we have to judge a students intelligence in studies is the percentages of marks in the exams</p>
<p>IMO, there is no school where the essay is more important that your HS transcript.</p>
<p>Have you already taken any SATs or AP tests? If you have taken them, please give us your scores. If not, you will need to sign up as soon as possible.</p>
