I’m currently looking at colleges and would appreciate some suggestions for schools that would be a good fit for me. I’m interested in being a drama teacher so I want a school with a strong theater and education program. I would also like a school that does not have a lot of partying or Greek life and is liberal, small or medium sized, and close to or in an urban area. I’m looking for schools in the mid-Atlantic. Thanks!
Muhlenberg
Sarah Lawrence, Purchase College. With these schools I think you would have to acquire your education credentials elsewhere, however.
Carnegie Mellon
Muhlenberg
what are your stats?
What are your SATs/GPA? There are tons of great liberal arts schools in the area but range greatly in difficulty i.e. Vassar vs. Muhlenberg
Boston isn’t quite in the mid-Atlantic, but check out Emerson College. It sounds like a good fit for you and they have a Theater Education degree.
Southern Methodist University (SMU) - located in Dallas Texas. It isn’t a religious school. 5500 in size. Great school! Great weather too! Beautiful campus. Great Meadows school - they got a HUGE endowment too.
Denison is another one…
Montclair State, in NJ, was originally a teacher’s college, and it has an excellent theater program. It has very easy access to NYC.
