Hi i am an indian student who will be applying next year to Cornell ED for under grad, at the college of arts & sciences for a CS major

here are some other unis i am applying to:

  1. Self-designed mobile application selected for IBM Sustainable Development Goals Hackathon (1M1B); among top 15 teams in India; awarded best app design and idea.: Project MediCab- a mobile application aimed at providing access of medicines to the rural population.
  2. Central Board of Secondary Education Science seminar; first position; theme: “A better India through Technology”
  3. Founder of Project R12: A youth project aimed at providing the 12 basic rights of a child to every child in India; also interned at CRY India’s biggest child rights association.

Is your class 11 grade correct or a typo?

Unfortunately, your sat score and the fact that you are international make almost all of those colleges reaches, even assuming your class 11 grade is 85 rather than 58. (Also note at least one on the list does not have EA, not sure about all of them). Penn State and UMass might be targets, I am not sure about their international intake.

Realize that almost none of these schools will offer significant aid to internationals even if you get admitted. Can your parents afford full pay at a US college?

What’s your budget? If a school isn’t affordable it doesn’t matter if you can get in. The answers on your other threads with this same question we’re pretty much all of the opinion that these are all reaches due to your 11th grade GPA and test scores. Do you have safeties in India? It’s always important to have safeties on your list.
