I've been researching some out-of-state colleges, only to find some I've never even heard of but hold some redeemable reputation. I was hoping others had any college suggestions?

I'm an rising junior IB student in Florida, so I know I'd be leaving behind the promised and sacred Bright Futures and the chances of receiving a large amount of credit for my AP/IB/dual enrollment scores.

I have a 3.70 unweighted GPA with a 5.23 weighted. I'm looking for a degree in psychology and possibly double major in something coherent (business, English, etc) with the chance to study abroad, either for psych or a minor in French. A suburban or city setting would be nice.

I've already looked at some colleges (Vassar, which still captures my attention; Hofstra) but any more would be great.

Way too soon. Relax. Focus on your studies in high school.

It’s fine to be thinking about it over the summer-but start with a conversation with your parents about what they can afford and their expectations. They may have some criteria in mind. Ask them about a college trip over spring break too. They will need some lead time.

And rather than picking schools at this stage, try identifying criteria that will help you figure out what you want: size of school, location, urban/rural/suburban, weather, culture, special interests, distance from home, deal-breakers (single-sex? religious?)…

You’ll be in good shape to identify schools that are a good fit by next spring. (And remember, your ideas can change a lot between now and then…)

Vassar I can understand, but leaving BF behind for Hofstra would be crazy.
