My answers:

  1. What college did you end up choosing and why? Did you transfer, take a year off, or drop out in between semesters at all?

I chose Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. I decided to go there because of the reasonable cost and location. I only live an hour away from home compared to the other people who live further away than I do. I haven’t transfered, taken a year off, or dropped out yet, and I don’t plan on doing so in the future.

  1. Do you live on campus, off campus, or were you a commuter?

I currently live on campus. I plan on living off campus by my senior year.

  1. What was your combined GPA after your first year of college? Could you've done better?

I got a 2.6 GPA combined. I could’ve done better, but everyone, including myself, was going through an adjustment period at the time. I do regret some of the mistakes that I’ve made during my first year, but made a plan to improve at the start of my 2nd year, which I’m currently in now.

  1. Did you ever switch your major and why?

I never switched my major and I don’t plan on doing so in the future.

  1. How long did it take you to find your "real" friend or group of friends? Are you still searching if you didn't find them yet? If you already graduated from college, are you still in contact with them?

I have meet some good people over the past year or so. I do believe that some are just “regular” friends who will come and go, but I do have some friends right at the moment who made be apart of my life until the day that I die.

5 - A "real" friend or group of friends, in my opinion, means that you always hang out with them everywhere you go. They're always with you until the day you die.

  1. What was your worst roommate experience(s)? How did you handle him/her? Were you able to change rooms or not?

I haven’t had any bad roommates so far. The only one that might’ve been iffy for me was someone who I brought in during the last semester of my freshman year. I met him at the dining hall and we became friends.

I decided to bring him in because my first roommate moved in with his other friend at another building, leaving me alone. He was dealing with some personal issues for awhile. He’s currently not in college right now because he didn’t get good grades and his parents wouldn’t let him come back. I do feel bad for him and I do wish that he would return and finish his last few years of college.

  1. What do you do for fun while you're in college?

I party and hang out with my friends. I do go to the gym/rec center from time to time, but partying would be my favorite activity. Notice that said partying and not drinking…

  1. What was your most memorable experience in college? So far if you're still in college?

I haven’t had any memorable experiences, yet. But, most likely, I will have some by the time I graduate college.

  1. What are some college hacks that you found out over the years?

I posted a thread on here with 5 tips/tricks for college freshman:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/2009042-helpful-advice-for-college-freshmen.html

  1. Graduates only: If you could to do it all over again, would you change anything about your college path/experience?

Even though that I’m not graduated yet, I wouldn’t change anything, so far.

  1. What college did you end up choosing and why? Did you transfer, take a year off, or drop out in between semesters at all? I go to University of Richmond, a selective Liberal Arts College. I chose it because I liked the food, the close knit community feel, the small class sizes, and I received a full tuition scholarship, so it was very affordable. I have had no breaks in my education here.
  2. Do you live on campus, off campus, or are you a commuter? I live on campus in a single (I'm a senior).
  3. What was your combined GPA after your first year of college? Could you've done better? 3.94 and yes, I could have done even better. One class I got an A- in was review for me, and I should have put more effort into it than I did.
  4. Did you ever switch your major and why? Nope.
  5. How long did it take you to find your "real" friend or group of friends? Are you still searching if you didn't find them yet? If you already graduated from college, are you still in contact with them?

My closest friend I actually met during a scholarship audition spring before college. It didn’t take long for us to find a group freshman year. Most of us are music/theater people.

  1. What was your worst roommate experience(s)? So far? How did you handle him/her? Were you able to change rooms or not? I don't wanna give too much detail in order to respect their privacy, but I had a roommate that was struggling mentally. I just avoided conflict, and they ended up not staying the entire year.
  2. What do you do for fun while you're in college? I love watching TV, but also hang out and watch movies with friends, and participate in music and theater pretty heavily, especially the former. Theater sometimes has parties that I go to, but other than those, I don't party (I don't drink at them either).
  3. What was your most memorable experience in college? So far if you're still in college? Probably so far has been chamber music one semester did a performance where we had a guest composer come and write all new music for us, that we premiered. I loved working with him! Also getting inducted into ODK and Mortar Board was pretty memorable, as both are highly competitive honor societies that I didn't expect to make.
  4. What are some college hacks that you found out over the years?

I’m sure there’s more, but the only ones I can think of right now are food related. One is the fast food place on campus will make any sandwich a wrap with request, so you can get your favorite messy sandwich with less mess and still be able to eat and walk to class if you don’t have time to sit down.

  1. Graduates only: If you could to do it all over again, would you change anything about your college path/experience?

Graduating in the spring, but probably not. In hindsight there’s courses I would have or wouldn’t taken if I could do it over, but nothing major.

  1. I went to our local community college, then St. Johns University in Jamaica NY. I took no time off, and graduated (with a job in hand) 4 years after graduating from high school. I went to CC because it made economic sense, and to St. Johns because they were (relatively) affordable, had a good School of Education, and, honestly, because that's where everyone I knew was headed.
  2. Commuter
  3. I finished with a 3.8. I forget the details-- I graduated high school in 1976, so it's been a while. But I'm sure I could have done better.

4 Nope… My mom says I knew in 2nd grade that I wanted to be a teacher. I decided on math in high school, in spite of having mostly abysmal math teachers.

  1. I brought them with me from teh part time job I worked from age 16 until I began teaching. We worked together, commuted to school together, vacationed together... There were about 10 of us in the crowd.
  2. NA
  3. We were making lots of money in the restaurant. We saw Broadway plays, rented a summer house in the Hamptons and a ski house up at Hunter, went out to eat a lot, went to concerts... It was a wonderful time in my life.
  4. See above
  5. W I can't think of anything at the moment.
  6. Not a thing.
