- What college did you end up choosing and why? Did you transfer, take a year off, or drop out in between semesters at all? I go to University of Richmond, a selective Liberal Arts College. I chose it because I liked the food, the close knit community feel, the small class sizes, and I received a full tuition scholarship, so it was very affordable. I have had no breaks in my education here.
- Do you live on campus, off campus, or are you a commuter? I live on campus in a single (I'm a senior).
- What was your combined GPA after your first year of college? Could you've done better? 3.94 and yes, I could have done even better. One class I got an A- in was review for me, and I should have put more effort into it than I did.
- Did you ever switch your major and why? Nope.
- How long did it take you to find your "real" friend or group of friends? Are you still searching if you didn't find them yet? If you already graduated from college, are you still in contact with them?
My closest friend I actually met during a scholarship audition spring before college. It didn’t take long for us to find a group freshman year. Most of us are music/theater people.
- What was your worst roommate experience(s)? So far? How did you handle him/her? Were you able to change rooms or not? I don't wanna give too much detail in order to respect their privacy, but I had a roommate that was struggling mentally. I just avoided conflict, and they ended up not staying the entire year.
- What do you do for fun while you're in college? I love watching TV, but also hang out and watch movies with friends, and participate in music and theater pretty heavily, especially the former. Theater sometimes has parties that I go to, but other than those, I don't party (I don't drink at them either).
- What was your most memorable experience in college? So far if you're still in college? Probably so far has been chamber music one semester did a performance where we had a guest composer come and write all new music for us, that we premiered. I loved working with him! Also getting inducted into ODK and Mortar Board was pretty memorable, as both are highly competitive honor societies that I didn't expect to make.
- What are some college hacks that you found out over the years?
I’m sure there’s more, but the only ones I can think of right now are food related. One is the fast food place on campus will make any sandwich a wrap with request, so you can get your favorite messy sandwich with less mess and still be able to eat and walk to class if you don’t have time to sit down.
- Graduates only: If you could to do it all over again, would you change anything about your college path/experience?
Graduating in the spring, but probably not. In hindsight there’s courses I would have or wouldn’t taken if I could do it over, but nothing major.
