I'm attending UCLA right now, but I'm doing very poorly right now. I'm in danger of getting STD (Subject to Dismissal) from the school and I don't know if I want to go through it. I have doubts about being at UCLA... it's just not the right place for me. Now on to my question, if I want to apply for admission from a different college (easier colleges this time >:3 like UCI, UCR), do I have to show them my UCLA transcript? F, D+, A+, C, D+, D, F... (I'm a freshmen btw and I've taken only seven courses so far) Or do I apply for admission with my high school transcript (which is pretty good... sorry if I'm being cocky... 4.35 overall)? And another catch is... I was accepted to all UCs school (except Berkeley) when I was a high school senior, so will there be a problem if I reapply one year later after I rejected their admission offers?

There won't be a problem in that regard, but you will have to show them your college grades, which means you're in a bit of trouble.

Hmm...I'd try applying as a freshman so your college grades don't matter as much, but they'll still want to see your college transcripts and want some sort of an explanation. Try and start with a clean slate.

I am an admission counselor. You must declare your previous college record when applying to transfer. Virtually all applications ask students to declare their entire academic history, and sign off that their application is accurate upon penalty of withdrawal or dismissal. Fraudulent applications are pursued vigorously. There are any number of ways that colleges later find out about missing college records. As problematic as your current situation is, it is nothing compared to what you would face with a fraudulent application, especially within the context of a state system.

The good news is that you do have a good high school record, which could offset your college performance. I would work hard to make your second semester grades as strong as possible. I would also write a very honest essay about what contributed to your less than stellar performance and about why your current college is not a good "fit," as well as why the school to which you are applying would be a better fit.

Some schools will overlook a bad first semester if everything else is in the application is strong (which is why second semester grades are important). Other schools are less forgiving. It depends on where you apply.

^

good to know. Definitely apply to lots of schools, heighten your chances.

the OP can not apply to other UC schools right now because they only accept applications for frosh or junior year. "Forgetting" about ucla and applying as a frosh is impossible; it's the same friggin' UC system, they know you were enrolled in one of their campuses!

If you are struggling at ucla you should go see a counselor pronto to discuss the best options for you.

admisscouns: Thanks a lot! Just the info I needed.

mikemac: My intent was not to try and cheat my way into college as it seems you are making me look that way... If the colleges requires me to list ALL my previous academic record, I will list all my records including my poor records at UCLA.
