College tranfer, Should I take the SATs or no?

So, I'm a sophomore at a California community college and going to apply to UNIs to transfer for fall 2015. At the time I apply I will hopefully have a 3.2 - 3.4 GPA (I messed up big time on a semester as a freshman.) I know transfer students don't need to submit SAT/ACT scores, but I was thinking since my GPA isn't going to be that great and I pretty much have NO extra curricular activities or volunteer or internships or anything like that, would it help if I took my SATs and got a good score on it? Would that boost my chances a little bit? Also, if you think it WOULD help, do you think the SATs or ACTs are a better test to take? (which is more highly regarded?). I plan on applying to NYU, CUNY, and FORDHAM.

Thanks everyone!

If the exam is not required, chances are that any scores you send won’t even be put into your file.

Contact each place and ask how they handle ACT/SAT scores for transfer students.

The two exams are regarded equally. Take a practice version of each exam, and see if you do better on one or the other.

Hm good advice. Thank you.

But if they are accepted for transfer students, what score do you think would boost my chances of acceptance to any of those unis?

Many schools will not accept am SAT/ACT taken in college. The tests were designed for HSers. Call to ask.
