I am a second year student at a community college. My graduation is in five weeks. Here’s the thing, I am passing all of my classes except for business calculus. This has been the most difficult class that I have taken. Due to my grade being low, my instructor has used an administrative withdrawal. Pretty much, I’ve been taken out of the class, rather than have an F on my transcript.
I had planned on attending University in the fall, and changing my major where calculus was listed as “Calculus or elective”, instead of the degree plan just listing calculus as a requirement. What I want to know is, if I do not graduate in May, can I still apply to university for the fall, and apply whatever classes I have taken even though I did not graduate community college?
You need to go talk with the Transfer Advisor at your CC. For the program that you are interested in, you may need that AA degree. If so, find out whether you can complete your degree by the end of the summer term.
Yes. Colleges usually have CC equivalency guides, so you should look into that. Any course listed on there (given that you passed) will transfer. If your program/major requires calculus for admission, then apply for general admission first. You can then work on calculus or any other missing prerequisites then apply to/declare your major.
Just watch out for registration restrictions (some will require you to declare a major by the time you reach 105 credits or something like that). The number (could vary by college) should give you an idea of when you should take calculus or any other required courses by.
