Hello I am transferring schools in the spring and I need to write a college essay for admission.

The topic of the essay requested is:
An essay describing your past academic experiences and your reasons for wishing to transfer to Maryland at this point in your academic career is required. Students who have been out of school for several years, or who have a personal circumstance that affected their academic performance, may wish to address that situation in their essay. Your essay should be no more than 300 words.

I have wrote a rough draft of what I am going to send to them I would appreciate any inputs, critiques on what need to add/remove/edit. Thank you.

My essay:

For the past two years I have been attending to Howard County Community College, during these years I have been trying to prepare myself in order to progress to the next level of education. I have taken courses in the pre-med field in which a few of the courses I did struggle a bit but I have not given up because I still do hold a strong passion for that field of study. My academic downfalls just help me motivate myself to do better, to try harder and to go above and beyond. Growing up as a child I had always been told to push further than I can push to try to reach for the stars and if I fail I'd at least land on the clouds. The moral of this is that I have always wanted to step outside my comfort zone to try to do better than good enough and that is why I feel that University of Maryland would be a good choice for me to advance to the next level of my education. In the past two years of my study I have developed a passion and have been more drawn towards the biology field. University of Maryland provides an excellent Biology department in which I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and excelling my academic performance in. During my time at Howard Community College I felt as if I still had someone holding my hand, walking me through it all and although some of the courses I have taken have been challenging I still havent felt challenged enough. I believe that I can change this at University of Maryland I can step out of that comfort zone, challenge myself and take advantage of their advanced education.
