Hello friends
I am joining university of southern mississippi for this fall and I am planning to transfer to other higher tier university in next year but I am not sure which universities provides good amount of scholarship for transfer students.please friends can you help me on this topic about name of universities and their requirement for scholarship?
It sounds like you are an international student.
. vs. “I am attending”.
Transfer students, looking for funding, have few options.
International students have even less opportunities.
Many higher tier universities will want to know the reason for the transfer.
If your school doesn’t have your major, then that may be an issue, but if it’s just because you want to go to a higher tier school, then no, that probably is not going to happen.
Please clarify. Your words sounds like you’re an int’l. If so, there are few, if any, that give good-sized scholarships for transfers.
If you don’t want to stay at Southern Miss, then don’t start there.
Yes I am a international student and I have already got visa for this university .I am not hoping to get full scholarship but I want to know that are there any higher tier universities in texas that provide out of state scholarship…i.e I should pay in state fee…
Just because you have the visa, does not mean that you have to attend a university you don’t like. Take a gap year, apply to places you like better, and see what works out.
If you know for certain that you want to be in Texas, you can check the websites of the universities there to find out what their scholarship policies are.
Transfer students at certain selective colleges are treated with the same consideration as first-year students in terms of need-based aid. Your options along these lines will depend greatly upon your academic performance. Look for colleges that promise to meet the “full financial need” for all “attending students.”

Nope! Not as an int’l transfer student.
Unless you’re able to pay ALL costs…including OOS…as a transfer, take a gap year. It doesn’t matter if your visa is for one school. That doesn’t matter.
I don’t think you understand. Schools don’t really care about transfer students…they’re just warm bodies to fill up seats. That’s why the money isn’t there.
As an international transfer the odds of getting any kind of big aid package is minuscule. I suggest you attend University of S. Mississippi with the intent of staying there four years and graduating or perhaps look for options in your home country.
