College Tuition Cost per year.

first post here so sorry if i messed up anywhere.
so i have been researching college tuition costs to make a list of my top preferred universities and i was wondering if the US news tuition price was per year or per semester/quarter? as i talked to a St. John's rep. and their sticker cost was yearly, while Cal States seem to list quarterly so im lost. thank you.

Most Cal States are semester so they won’t be listing quarter prices.

Look on the school’s website for the best info…pay close attention to whether prices are for semester, quarter, or yearly.

If you see a listing by credits, it’s probably semester or quarter, not yearly.

You can also look on Collegeboard…those prices should be yearly, but may be a year behind.

Keep in mind that prices go up every year so the price quoted now won’t be the price when you enroll or the price you’ll pay for each following year.

oh alright thanks!i just need rough estimates. college board says the UCs are 15k so … still lost haha. do you happen to know the yearly tuition for pepperdine and nyu? read over their sites and they arent very specific on if the 40k tuition is per year or semester.

When you are looking up the tuition costs, you have to see how it is presented. You also need to know what the required fees are since they have to be paid in addtion to the tuiton. At some schools, such as the Massachusetts state schools, the fees are more than the tuition. You have to read what formats each college is using, whether it is per semester, trimester, quarter or year. Also for many colleges the amounts differ depending on the branch or school. NYU has a number of schools and the costs can differ widely as to whether you are going to Abu Dhabi campus and among the various NYC schools.

For NYU the cost for one semester tuition is $20,439 for the Caollege of Arts and Sciences with required fees of $1163 and $55. So a year’s tuition there for two semester, fall and spring, this year is about $43K.

Pepperdine’s cost per semester is $20,980 with a $275 yearly fee, so the tuition cost for 2 semester, fall and spring is more thatn $42K. NYU and Pepperdine tuition costs are very close this year, as you can see.

The frightening thing is that the Cost of Attendance for either of these schools is in the mid $60K range.

We know a family with kids going to NYU. They are commuting, but the public transportation costs alone are over $300 a month, so even commuters are have to come up with close to $50K a year unless they are very careful with expenses, packing drink and snacks from home.

That would be “per year”. No college in the US has an annual tuition of $80k for undergrad. lol…at least not yet! :)
