Ok, so when you scedule a college visit, how does the whole process work? Do you pay for your trip and stay while you're over there or does the college pay it for you?

I haven't been on any college visit yet so any details on how the whole process works is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

if by pay for your trip you mean airfare/etc… usually no… unless your specifically being invited. For most college tours you just show up, go to the admissions office, find out when the tour is (or look it up online), and jump on it.

The student (or family) is responsible for all expenses related to visiting. I think when Anonymous says “unless you’re specifically invited” he/she means by a coach. etc. A generic postcard invitation doesn’t count.

Also, I’d recommend calling ahead and scheduling your visit in advance. It helps you demonstrate a little more interest compared to a spontaneous “just show up.”
