College visits..

Those of you who have been lucky enough to visit the Princeton campus, puhleeze take some time out to post your experience in the college visits feature of cc! if you are lazy to do it, at least post here...

a student, most probably upperclassman will show you the campus. Princeton is well organised place, only 10-15 mins can give you across the campus!

there is a railway station and bus service in the campus, most ppl go to new york.

students look frndly, gals look disgustin!

most ppl study on the stairs or at side pathway of the roads.

athletes are giants!

library is good, black boards(no fgreen ones)!

wat more info u want, plz specify, so i can help u.

Please disregard the above post. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM. (I can probably write more about the campus than any prospectives, but since we're playing Dartmouth in an hour, I'm not really going to post anything at all).

i made a campus visit, i know things a bit too man, y disgard my post?

because comments like 'gals look disgustin!' show that u have no idea what u r talking about.

look dude, everything is important wen u go to ur college, u have to spend 4 yrs there, ???

'look dude', try growing up, seriously.

whateva man...here it is:

If anybody want a 'serious' info bout campus, specify what exactly you want to know?

I have visited twice, including a total of 2 tours, 1 info session, and 2 classes. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me (though I'm sure I don't know near as much as quirkily!). I was going to post bits and pieces of my notes, but I don't know how helpful they'll be standing alone.

not that i've got any specific questions now... just wanted to hear about the stunningly beautiful campus..

lol....you guys should chill out on this thread....arguments here and there....anyways I would also like to know how the campus is?

Well you've got the right idea. It is stunningly beautiful. Gothic architecture staight out of a fairytale book combined with ultramodern buildings, closely manicured laws, sculptures evrywhere, flowered gardens, the amazing cathederal. It's pretty close to paradise. I suggest googling for some pics.

Well, I think the best way to see how beautiful the campus is is through pics...and I think there was a thread with links somewhere down there...?
My general impressions: Absolutely stunning. Impressive Gothic architecture mixed in with expanses of green...spread out enough to not feel crowded but not too spread out...and there's a gorgeous rose garden that nearly took my breath away. Tons of little nooks and crannies to be alone, and a great town (in my opinion, though I know some do not think so).

Haha, Ernie, we basically said the same thing...didn't see your post until after I had posted!

It is utterly breathtaking. Every classroom I was in was so beautiful, and the grounds are stunning. The buildings look like they are straight out of Harry Potter...
The classes I audited only confirmed my preconcieved notions about the PHENOMENAL education offered at Princeton. I mean, i'm not even that intersted in politics, but I sat in on this Foreign Policy class that made me want to be a politician!
Also, I know someone at Princeton and he took me to dinner at his eating club (IVY) and that was very fun...also went to a party. It was honestly much more laid back then I was expecting. I got all dressed up and cute thinking that it was a big deal...and everyone was wearing sweats and just very chill. Made me much less nervous about the whole 'elitist' stereotype that the eating clubs get.

nice....that should have been fun "gettingin"....you went to one of their parties?? wow! I like what i hear about these buildings....hopefully I would get to see it in reality

the old looking bricked looking from outside rooms in the campus are much better to live from inside, the rooms which looks amazin from outside look not of such utility from inside, dats wat i would say.

dining halls were AMAZING.

yeah lol it was actually a great time!

Yeah, I sat in a couple of classes, too--Intro Psych and an English class on Faulkner.

Psych was INCREDIBLE; even though it was a huge lecture, it so did not feel that way. The prof was dynamic and warm, (he even pointed out that his mom was there at the lecture that day, and she waved as everyone clapped--it was so cute!) and everyone felt comfortable asking questions.

The English class was a lecture of about 20-30 and less impressive to me, though maybe that was because I couldn't really follow it as I had not read the book they were discussing! The prof was friendly and a bit off the wall, and you could tell that he was having an inner battle between going off on some tangent and sticking to his planned lecture--it was actually quite amusing! I would say it was a good, but not great class. However, I'm not all that interested in majoring in English and audited that particular class because of the convenient time.

When I was there, I "grabbed" a couple of students who were heading into Witherspoon (I think) and asked if they would show me their dorm room. They were really excited to do so, and extremely warm and helpful. They were in a quad made up of two doubles and a common room--it was extremely spacious, but they said that it was probably the smallest quad in the building! Keep in mind, though, that this was Rocky, known to have some of the best rooms among the colleges.

Well, I certainly blabbed on for a bit--didn't realize I had so much to say!

and one guy told me dat though crime is not there, cycle thefts are amazingly common, most student carry them to their roms, sounds strange, but its true!
