Hi! After receiving all my decisions, I'm finally narrowing down my college choices. The schools I'm considering are UVA (McIntire), UChicago (econ), and Brown (econ). I'm interested in pursuing a career in business, something more creative (not finance!!) probably in the realm of marketing. My dad mentioned the possible disadvantages of trying to enter the business world from a school that doesn't have an undergrad business school, citing the lack of a support system/career advising/like-minded people/etc. Is that true? Would an econ degree from a college of arts and sciences put me in a place to be a researcher/consultant/analyst instead of something actually dealing with business?
