<p>There is a big difference between the vibe at NYU and the vibe at Wake Forest. Pretentious hipsters may be at both schools, but at NYU you would see them every day and at Wake it would be far more rare.</p>
<p>Somewhere I heard that Montana was the most laid back state in the union. From my very minimal travels, the mountain west seems very laid back to me, and I’m glad I grew up here.</p>

<p>Instead of framing the question in such a negative way – those type of people are pretentious (thus I am better than them, even though I am insecure about myself and feel like they are looking down on me) – think about what type of people you enjoy being around and go from there.</p>
