college

I’ve posted before, but now I have new stats, so I’m just curious as to what my chances are now!

SAT 1:
650 CR
710 W
730 M

ACT: 32
29 writing
30 Math
33 Reading
36 science

SAT 2:
Math Level 2: 750
Spanish: 690

GPA. 4.05 W
3.79 UW …I’ve taken 6 AP’s in high school, and I’ve gotten 10 B’s the rest A’s

EC’s

I don’t want to make a huge list with super specific details bc i hate reading them in other people’s posts so…

Music- i play oboe/english horn, county/state honor bands, youth orchestras, very involved, took AP music theory

Sports- Lettered 2 years for varsity water polo, both years league and section champions

clubs- involved in varios clubs but not extremelely involved

past summer conducted research with a UC Berkeley professor, she’s writing letter of recs for me

I’m signed up to take the SAT this saturday, but i don’t know if i will. It’ll be the 3rd time…Also i’m going to take the ACT again bc i’ve only taken it once.

I’m wondering what my chances are, and if i shoudl even consider extremeley selective schools. What other schools do you think i have a chance at??

I’m wondering my chances are at UCB, UCSD, and UCLA

Also so others: Northwestern, brown, cornell, upenn, usc, CMC, johns hopkins,

I keep feeling that schools are either too much of a reach or really easy to get into. I’m confused. Anyone have suggestions as to which other schools I should apply to? If I do better on the SAT/ACT would it really help my chances? Thanks ahead of time to all the CC’ers out there nice enough to respond!

good luck with SAT's! Im taking them this saturday too!

on that note. Idk about those colleges so can 't give u any advice.

also waht major?

Well the research i did last summer had to do with environmental health sciences. Also this year I'm taking AP Environmental Science. I wrote about my research a lot, so I decided that it would be best to mark environmental science as my major. In some schools (USC, cornell, and UCSD) there is an environmental engineering major.

bump? (10char)

SATs are ok for Berk and UCLA, good for UCSD...assuming yer instate. Idk how you get a 3.79 UW with 10 Bs, unless you got a quarter system. Tests scores are a low for schools in ivy league, etc (though act is decent). Avg SAT at JHU is 1440, avg at NW is 1400, dunno how act will work for ya.

No I'm on the semester system.....Well I guess my GPA is higher because of the amount of classes I've taken. I will have taken 28 classes throughout my high school year, so that's like 56 semester worth of class. So 46 out of those 56 semester have A's and 10 semester have B's, that's an average of almost 3.82.I guess i should try to calculate an ACADEMIC GPA

pennywhistle1:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach
UCSD: Match
