I am a sophomore and will soon buy the Collegeboard SAT blue book to study over the summer. I was just wondering how people's experiences have been with the online course and if it is helpful and or necessary. There is a discount that you get if you buy them both together, so I don't know whether I should or not...

I used the one practice that was online and available for free. Other than that I used the blue book. I’m not sure if the tests are different, but the extra practice is helpful because they are all CB tests. Therefore, they won’t deviate much from the actual exam. The one problem with the online course, while it does analyze your problem areas, it is predominantly on the computer, so timing yourself is difficult. The actual exam is also not administered on the computer, so the different medium might present a problem. I am fairly certain there is an option to either print out the tests, which would be helpful and provide you with more tests. Additionally, I think you can enter your answers from the blue book into the computer, and it can analyze your problem areas that way as well. Good luck!
