Has anyone used the collegeboard on-line course yet? We are definitely going to sign d up for it. How much she uses it is another matter. It's a true bargain. You have 6 months access to it and can get the new collegeboard SAT book for around $80. As she will take the new SAT in the spring, she'll be able to use the service until the last spring SAT in June. I just wanted to know what your experience has been. I'll let you know d's impression but I'm sure she will not start prepping until next month. Thanks.

My daughter is working on it now, and seems to be learning from it. It's especially helpful to have the essay graded. We'll see how effective it is in a few months.

The content and strategies are pretty useless. The most helpful parts of the course are the essay grading software, practice drills, and explanations to all the practice test and Study Guide questions. If you want solid strategies and content, however, invest in a prep book or two.

Thanks guys- I know the best prep is to study-review and study some more. We will order the accompanying SAT book and a Kaplan or another. As it is the first year of the new SAT, my gut feeling is that Kaplan-PR and all others are taking educated guesses about the new test. I think we are going to rely more on the collegeboard review as they are the ones administering the test. I used a local company for my older daughter 2 years ago and her results were fine. But this year-with the new test, I'm not even considering using a smaller tutoring firm. I'm sure in a year or two, all the tutors will be properly prepared for the new SAT.
