I recently took two practice SAT tests: the free "Official 2012-2013 CollegeBoard Practice SAT" and the Baron's SAT test. (I plan on doing the blue book soon).

Anyways I've been studying for 8 weeks and these are my scores from the two different tests:

Collegeboard: 2010 CR: 680 Math: 650 WR: 680 W/ Essay
Baron's: 1900 CR: 670 Math: 590 WR: 640

How come the scores vary so much (110 pts). Is the Collegeboard one too easy? Or is the Baron's one too hard?

Please give me some insight as to which one is more accurate. I'm working out a goal plan.

Much Thanks

Keep in mind the individual scores only vary by at most 60 points, which is possible (maybe you made some silly mistakes, or simply did better on one sitting).

Also, I took the CB test once and the essay score was pretty inaccurate IMO (pretty much BS’ed and got a 10, even though I usually get 8’s). Don’t know which one is harder…never used Barron’s.

I have never used Barrons, but I heard that it is generally harder. The collegeboard one is the most accurate book out there.

On a side note, does anybody know what year the collegeboard 2012-2013 practice test is from? If I remember correctly, the 2011-2012 official practice test was from 2006.

hey i believe the 2012-2013 test and the 2011 test is the exact same one. they just changed the date. and also i did not grade the essay, i got my sat teacher to grade it.

Oh I just checked. The 2012 is the same as the 2010. Thanks for replying Jetacle :)

110 points isnt much. I took the SAT test last may and june and my score decreased in june by 90 points
