Collegeboard, we have a problem. AP Calc

So, when my teacher got our free responses back, she saw that some people had AP Calc BC problems in their FR, rather than AB(2 probs involving taylor series and euler's method). She called CB and whatnot, does anyone know whether this will result in a misadmin or not?

If you were supposed to take AB instead of BC, then its probably CB’s fault. Unless, however, your school incorrectly distributed the tests.

Some BC people at our school got AB free responses. CB must have screwed up the tests.

How did your teacher get them back so quickly?..

Our teacher got them today too. How is that so quickly?

It’s 48 hours already. The AP Coordinator can hand back the FR inserts 48 hours after the exam.

What if you are self-studying?

I can understand how a BC student may not notice that they have the AB free response, but how can an AB student not notice that they have the BC free response?

The BC exam usually shares at least one FRQ with the AB exam. After all, BC covers the same material as AB - no point in creating a new question to test the same things.

And how did the AB guys not notice that they hadn’t learned half of the FRQs? Someone should’ve pointed it out during the exam. Most likely it was an error of test distribution, on the part of your proctor and not CB.

I think it was CB’s fault, since EVERYTHING is shrink-wrapped together. CB must have packaged the wrong FRQ for the right test.

Our school doesn’t offer the BC exam, so it could not have been that.
And they did notice, and they told my teacher, but I think they thought that it was just something that they forgot?

Have your school report this to the CollegeBoard as this is a valid reason to retest. If you hurry, they might be able to schedule you guys for the late testing period 2 weeks from now.

Btw, I believe 3 of the FRQ’s always overlap between AB and BC, so that way the AB subscore for BC is more valid.

Well, CB must have packaged the AB test wrong before they shipped.

I’ve heard that this happened at my school as well.

Wow. CB really messed up BIG time here.
