Collegeboard's IDOC!?!?? what is that!?

will we be charged a fee for the IDOC? if i qualify for the fee waiver for the css profile will i be able to qualify for a fee waiver for the idoc?

Okay.... Is this required??

I mean my parents dont want to fill out the Business Supplment. My EFC is really low according to FAFSA and I dont want colleges to take that away from me and make my family pay more.

What happens if I dont do this??? Man... I hate CSS

If the college you are applying to demands the Profile -- and uses the iDOC -- you have to comply. As for the Bus Supp., you can't escape it if your parents own a business or farm.

What if your parents haven't gotten their 2008 tax returns because they have to pay money back and they can't pay it yet. All we have are w-2s.

IDOC requires you to send them copies of W-2s AND all 1099s. I still have a couple of 1099s that haven't come yet (for piddling amounts of money). This IDOC is driving me nuts!

As for not filing tax returns because you can't pay the money you owe, you can file and ask for a payment plan.

DOES IDOC COST $?

From my experience, they usually don't mention a word about $ until the very end right after you complete everyhting needed...

I couldn't find the answer anywhere!

If you know how much it costs per institute, that would help too1

IDOC is a free service (at least to you; the colleges may pay something for the service)

hey guys quick question...i have 3 schools that require IDOC. where do i put each school's name in the packet? do i have to indicate each of their names at all?

Help!!!

IDOC is due on Monday and I haven't sent in anything yet. My parents haven't finished filing their 2008 taxes. I think I read somewhere that it was okay to send 2007 forms, but I can't find if that's true. Does anyway know if we can send the previous year's forms until the current ones are filed?

IDOC is simply another way the college board gets rich. The CSS profile is close to fafsa but not free. To make matters worse they are weeks behing this year, my son missed a deadline. The College board claims the date submitted will be used by the school not the date processed and you wont be penalized but thats not so. I have a good friend that works in finacial aid and though they claim that they wont hold IDOC’s tardiness against students when the money is gone its gone and they start giving day one as they want the process over!
