I registered with Collegeboxes and received the boxes before I read other threads and found various horror stories regarding their "losing" boxes and late deliveries. I am considering cancelling and switching to Valet Today (the one endorsed by USC), but from what I gather, it's relatively new.

Can anyone give me advice on this ASAP? I know that you have to sign up for VT before May 1 if you want the boxes shipped to you.

What is Valet Today? What are you talking about?

I'd like to know too. I've never come across this in any literature.

They have Valet Today leaflets posted in the New/North CSC...it's being endorsed by USC and apparently only about 10 universities are using it at the moment.

It's also in the Check Out guide.

What exactly is this? Can someone elaborate?

I imagine it's too late to sign up for either service as housing contracts are ending this week. Basically they are two private companies which provide you with boxes and materials and you pack up your own stuff. The boxes are then picked up on the last day and stored in a warehouse off-site. On move-in day (ideally) the boxes arrive back on campus.

There are a variety of reviews for both services, though Valet Today is the "official" USC partner. Oversize items like bikes or furniture are also probably not compatible with the service.

I chose VT campus in the end...they do allow bikes and furniture, it turns out. They also drop off your boxes before move in day (supposedly).
