<p>A look at some of the larger New Orleans colleges affected by Hurricane Katrina:</p>

<p>_ Tulane University.</p>

<p>Students: 11,052.</p>

<p>Endowment: $722 million.</p>

<p>Assessment: Main campus appears to have escaped major flooding damage.</p>

<p>_ Xavier University</p>

<p>Students: 3,466</p>

<p>Endowment: $52 million.</p>

<p>Assessment: Extensive damage.</p>

<p>_ Dillard University</p>

<p>Students: 2,656</p>

<p>Endowment: $46.6 million.</p>

<p>Assessment: Flooding and other damage to campus buildings.</p>

<p>_ Loyola University New Orleans</p>

<p>Students: 4,433</p>

<p>Endowment: $304.2 million.</p>

<p>Assessment: Spared significant damage.</p>

<p>_ University of New Orleans</p>

<p>Students: 17,350</p>

<p>Endowment: $13.8 million (part of state system).</p>

<p>Assessment: Two-thirds of campus remained above water.</p>
