Colleges and universities in NY?

I was just wondering if it is best to study for business or marketing in NY, since the whole business thing is located in there. Am I right or wrong?
Will that help me to do a good practice while studying?

don't understand what you intended for. kkk

you are wrong

If you go to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Penn (Wharton), NYU Stern you're in a good spot for "business" (and by that I mean finance). However with that said, you often see Columbia and to a lesser extent Stern recruited at the same level as Harvard/Wharton students because of their locations in the heart of NYC. THere's a couple of BB firms that hire exclusively from Stern/Columbia.

It all depends really just like the member before me had mentioned. If you do go to a reputable school then it is a more likely chance that you may have a better OPPORTUNITY. With that being said their are also some economical factors you must take into account. NY schools are very expensive for the most part, if you receive a good financial plan then that is in your favor and you should most definitely go. Look at other choices as well, like Indiana University - Bloomington, its much cheaper but obviously not NY. In NY, I know that Fordham, Pace, and obviously NYU are great schools. If you can get into NYU, Sterns students get recruited very well, so that is really what I guess you are looking for. If you can be a little more specific into what you are looking for ultimately then I might be able to asnwer your question with a little more detail. Thanks.

TruAzn's post regarding finance is rather inaccurate.

Go to the best college possible, doesn't matter whether or not it is in NYC. Any Ivy or a school such as MIT, Stanford, Duke, Northwestern, Chicago, Michigan, Berkeley etc. will have great placement in all areas of business.

By "BB" do you mean "Bulge Bracket"? And if so, please name these couple of Bulge Bracket firms that hire exclusively from Stern / Columbia. I'm sure there are plenty of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Wharton, etc. grads that would like to be enlightened.

I think he might mean boutique banks by mistake?

I agree with thethoughtprocess try, as I had mentioned before what you are ultimately looking for is what you really need to take into account as well. Though experience (CO-OP) is important as well, yet if you were to go to Upenn oposed to NYU for finanace, UPENN is like #1 in Finance and I am sure you can build a strong network their. There are many things that you must take into account, yet I can get into that later on a different topic.

Fordham University's College of Business Administration is very well respected throughout the New York area. Most of the students that graduate have a job within the first 5 months, and highly lucrative jobs at that.

and anyone with a name like fordham217 cant possibly be biased, could they?

Everyone is biased - but the truth is, if you want to work in New York City, then Fordham is a great choice because of its alumni network and internship opportunities.

loslobos if you have some disagreement as to why fordham does not qualify for this persons question then please say so. Unless you have something else better than "can't possibly be biased" then don't. To be quite honest I myself recommended Fordham as a school and I have never even been their but I know enough to know how well of a school they are. Yet posting something that is not going to get the student very far is not helpful and I humbly request you to not be discouraging. Thank You.

Thanks mom, but I can say whatever I wish. Move along...
