Colleges aren't receiving my FAFSA?

I submitted the FAFSA for the first time on 1/11/14 and the FAFSA website said it was processed on 1/13/14 and I got a confirmation email too. Then a a few days later I received an email from FAFSA that my information was not submitted yet. I emailed them back and they said that it's an automated email and I'm probably fine.

Up until 1/20 none of the college online portals said they received my FAFSA, and some even emailed me about my missing financial aid documents (including FAFSA) so I submitted it again on 1/20 (I had 11 schools so I had to submit twice anyway) and got a confirmation email the next day that my FAFSA corrections had been processed. Lo and behold a few days pass and I get the same automated email as before that my FAFSA was started but not submitted.

Today, still none of the college online portals reflect that they received my 1st or corrected 2nd FAFSA, and I am beginning to worry a little since some of my schools have a 2/1 deadline. How can I confirm if they did actually receive my FAFSA? Should I call them come Monday?

You could provide your DRN to the schools. DRN allows you to release FAFSA information to the schools. See https://fafsa.ed.gov/help/fotwfaq07.htm</a>

Many colleges are not yet ready to download FAFSAs into their systems. Software has to be updated before that can happen. They may have received it in their mailbox from the processor, but they have not yet loaded it into their systems. It sounds to me like everything is fine with your FAFSA. You could call the schools to ask them to look to see if they have received it. If they haven’t started to load them in their system, they will tell you that … and they are not able to see if it has been received, so you’ll just have to wait.
