Colleges cut ties with cable

"With the popularity of television streaming services, provisions for cable are fading out at some colleges.

Starting Jan. 1, students at Marietta College in Ohio will no longer be able to watch cable TV in their individual rooms, a sign of the times, the Marietta Times reported.

A couple of institutions in the Mirror’s coverage area have already made the transition away from cable.

Mount Aloysius College in Cresson and Saint Francis University in Loretto are among the post-secondary institutions no longer providing cable television access to dorms." …
