Colleges for a prospective business student

I am a current high school senior who is embarking on the college application process! I am planning on pursuing a business degree and hope to have a job in the future as a business research analyst. Currently, however, I am slightly confusing as to what schools I have a decent shot at getting into. I am thoroughly considering Rice, Emory, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, and Brown as my top choices. What are my chances at getting into these schools?

What schools do you guys suggest?

Rice: Reach
Emory Goizueta: High match
UMI Ross: Reach
Brown Starr: Reach (Starr isn’t actually a business school in the traditional sense but it’s the closest thing to a B-school at Brown)

Brown: reach
Rice: reach
Emory: low reach
Michigan: N/A*

*Depends on whether or not you live in-state or OOS.

Considering you are in the top 2%, I’m assuming that your school is very challenging as you “only” have a 3.6 UW. In addition, a 2140 is definitely on the low side for an Ivy like Brown, and for Rice and Emory it would be right around average, give or take. The extracurriculars look pretty solid, however, but have you thought of doing a sport?

All in all, I would not necessarily count on getting into any of these four schools, establish a good backup like BU, Fordham, etc. Something like Boston College would be right up your alley, but something tells me you wouldn’t be interested in that type of environment.

Good luck and chance back?
