Please help me select which colleges I should apply to. I am interesting in marketing, (maybe advertising) Business. please don't suggest a Top Ten school - as my GPA is around 3.5 and I don't want to waste my time applying to them.

It depends what you want to do with the degree. I would suggest looking at schools in the 5 largest cities. Obviously a school in the northeast is going to be ideal if you are looking for the high-end NY marketing gig after graduation. I would stay away from the big public schools in the south and midwest if your goal is this type of work.

It all depends on what you want to do with the degree. Usually, you can’t go wrong with selecting which companies you would like to work for (internal marketing, advertising, etc.), figuring out which universities place the best in those companies, and deciding on the school based on your findings.

There should be some resources on the internet as well.

Barrons mention of Miami Of Ohio is a good one. James Madison, Syracuse, Fordham, Santa Clara, UMass Amherst, Oregon, Arizona State and Colorado might all be worth a look too. Best of luck!

What are your ACT or SAT scores?

How much will your parents spend each year?

What is your home state?

What else do you want in a college? Quiet campus? spirited campus? warm weather? cold/snowy weather?

I am a junior. I have not yet appeared for ACT or SAT. My home state is CA. Would prefer staying closer to West Coast (warmer climes) - but that is not a prime consideration. Given my grades - I cannot be that choosey. Luckily - financing my education is not an issue.
