Colleges for me?

If anyone will please recommend any colleges I should look at, I would appreciate it!

I loved USC and Wash U. Liked Emory and Georgetown. Did not like UCB, Tufts, Vanderbilt, GWU.

I am looking for a school with school spirit (does not have to be based solely on sports, I just want people to love where they are), kind environment, beautiful campus, nice town surrounding (not totally isolated), biking on campus, mild weather (not too cold). Nothing too crowded or too empty. appx. 7000-18000 undergrads.

I am looking for all schools (reach, target, likely), so any recommendations are appreciated!

What are your scores and GPA? What can you afford?

Tulane, WUSTL, UNC, UVA, Duke, and Wake Forest come to mind; I guess those are all various levels of high match and reach.

It’s cold, but you visited Tufts, so maybe BC? Villanova also, if you’re not counting on need based aid.

Are you from CA? There are some publics (eg UMD) that might qualify, but are likely too expensive. Cost constraints will really help. If you are from CA, some of the UCs could be good financial and admissions safeties.

UAlabama could be a safety financially, though it’s quite large. USCarolina would be another large safety, great honors college, but merit is competitive. Maybe College of Charleston, also with competitive merit?

Hard to know without stats, but assuming you are a strong applicant:
Reach - Duke, UVA, UNC
Match - Tulane, Lehigh, University of Miami

Im from CT. Public college is good but don’t want to stay in state.

33 ACT first try planning to take again (all sections equal 33, except 32 on reading). I have many genuine ECs and community service efforts on my application (started my own community service club, dance 30 hours a week). Won’t list GPA because it is different for every high school. Took 3 AP tests and awaiting scores. Planning to take 4 APs next year. High school doesn’t rank.
Probably won’t get financial aid, but considering all options regardless of cost and aid.

Thank you so much already!

I recommend Clemson University. It’s in a great college town, and it has ranked #1 for it’s happy students & most school spirit.

I also recommend University of San Francisco. It’s actually just out of the Top 100 cut-off (108). It’s in a lovely area, and it’s test scores are quite high. The campus is beautiful as well.

I second College of Charleston. Depending on GPA, you may be competitive for the Honors College. Great community service and travel abroad opportunities . 20 minutes to the beach. Located in beautiful Charleston SC. It’s worth a look.

You really need to ask your parents what your college fund is. Without knowing how much they can spend, it’s pointless to try to figure out where you will go.

USC is $72K per year, can you afford that?

@“aunt bea” I asked. Funding should not be a problem.

For USC, you need a high GPA, a good ACT/SAT score and good EC’s. They like National Merit finalists. Plus, you need $72K per year.
