Colleges for the 3.1 gpa student?

What are some colleges (safety, match and reach) would you recommend to a student with a 3.1 gpa and 2010 SAT?

I prefer a smaller campus (liberal arts) but am open to all options, and I would like to either be in California or the Northeast

Thanks!

What is your home state and what can your family afford?

1 - a 3.1 gpa doesn’t mean you failed high school.

2 - there are many school-finder sites, including on this site and CollegeBoard, where you can type in your criteria (GPA, intended major, finances…) and it will return a list of schools to consider.
Lycoming College
Elizabethtown College
Washington & Jefferson College

Look into Siena College (upstate NY) as well.

@Erin’s Dad I live in California and my family can afford around a total of $30,000-$35,000 tuition+room and board

Chico State would probably work. It’s a state school and I believe its the liberal arts college of CA. Really depends on what you want to major in. It is a party school from what I understand.

Is there a Groucho and Harpo State also?

Sorry, couldn’t resist,
