So at my school my GPA scale is out of 5, meaning you can end with a 5.5, 5.7, etc etc. I have a 4.43/5.0 which, when converted on a 4.0 scale, converts to a 3.54/4.0. Now, when I asked my guidance counselor about this, he said that colleges probably don’t use a 5.0 to 4.0 converter like that and that I should just round down one point (so I would have a 3.4/4.0, which is a decent difference from the actual conversion).
Basically, I’m just wondering if this is true. Do colleges really just round down one number, or do they convert it mathematically? Any advice will help!
