Hey I was wondering what would be some colleges I should apply to. I live in Pensylvania and am white. Here's what I got:

730 Math Sat
700 CR
700 Writing
750 Math Level 2
700 Biology Sat2
3.75 GPA
Varsity cross-country
Varsity swimming
Captain of swim team
Good enough to be recruited D3 for swimming (and a few D1's, but not Ivy)
Student Government Treasurer
School Band for three years, (brass section leader)
National merit commended
AP Calculus, Latin Vergil, English Lit and Chemistry (have not gotten test results yet)

That's it though. Do I have good enough test scores and do enough extra-curriculars to be considered at any Ivy schools? I am considering mostly East coast schools and like both city and country campuses. I would greatly appreciate any input.

Arken233- You have dozens if not hundreds of options. You need to narrow it down.

Public or private?

Coed or single-sex?

Rural, suburban, or urban?

Small (< 2000), medium (2000-10000), or large (10000+)?

Is cost an issue?

Do you want certain extracurricular activities, like a fencing team?

Popular Greek life or no Greek life?

Do you have special needs (LD, physically disabled, etc.)?

How selective do you want?

I don’t see the connection here. If you do decide to look into WUSTL, OP, it will be a reach as your scores are near the lower 25th percentile. The top UC’s will also be a reach.

As far as your chances at a Ivy…you are obviously a strong applicant anywhere, but the problem is that there are thousands of profiles very similar to yours submitted to these schools each year. Being white, from PA, and hookless, your chances at an Ivy are realistically very slim. That isn’t to say that you shouldn’t apply if you have interest in any of those schools, though.

I didn’t know the Ivies had strong swim teams. If you are willing to bend the east coast preference a little then consider Kenyon and Denison. Absolutely great swim teams, great educations, in Ohio.

Also, check into Boston College, NYU, Boston University, George Washington, Skidmore, Ct. College, Franklin & Marshall, Dickinson, Richmond and Gettysburg. Best of luck!
