What are some decent, top 50 or so, colleges located in or very close to a large city with a good BUSINESS program?
Here is my list so far:
BU
NYU
USC

Looking for ones that are not TOO competitive

have you looked at Boston College?

What about Pace?It might not be “top 50 or so,” but it has an Honors College and excellent access to the neighboring financial community. Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business is also supposed to be excellent. I don’t know about Pitt or Temple for business, but I think they are both pretty good.

DePaul in Chicago.

I define a “big city” as one that has a population greater than 500,000.

Most selective:
Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper)
Georgetown University (McDonough)
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan)
New York University (Stern)
University of California-Berkeley (Haas - OOS applicants)
University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)
Washington University-St Louis (Olin)

Highly selective:
Boston College (Carroll)
Emory University (Goizuetta)
Georgia Institute of Technology
Tulane University
University of California-Berkeley (Haas - IS applicants)
University of Southern California (Marshall)
University of Texas-Austin (McCombs - OOS applicants)

Moderately selective:
Babson College
Bentley University
Boston University
George Washington University
Northeastern University
Ohio State University (Fisher)
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (Carlson)
University of Pittsburgh
University of Texas-Austin (McCombs - IS applicants)

Baruch College has a very good business program, is in NYC, and is relatively easy to get into compared with other schools on your list.

thanks alexandre, your list is good
will check out BC, emory and Georgia Tech to add to my list, although Emory seems more like most selective

If you post some of your stats, GPA, SAT/ACT, ECs, they don’t have to be exact, it will be easier to match you up.

I was rejected last year from USC for transfer ):, would apply again but no spring admission

Alex, Haas only accepts current Cal students at the junior level…or junior level transfers. Junior level transfer from another institution is most difficult entry into Haas.

UCBChem, I know Haas is only open to Juniors. I was referring to Cal’s general selectivity for OOS/IS students. I suppose I should have been clear that Haas can only be applied to as college Sophomores.
