I've taken tours at UCSB, Pepperdine, and LMU. Also SDSU and USD are on my college list.

First, I'll estimate your chances.

Pepperdine/UCSB - Slight Reach
LMU/USD - Match
SDSU - Safe Match

As for the schools themselves, I'll tell you what I know about them. (This is how I rank them).

UCSB - This school is amazing. My favorite UC. It has an excellent reputation as well as an amazing social life. The beach is right there, the weather is perfect, and it offers a great college town in Isla Vista. Also the students all seem very happy, and they are always up for a good time. Overall this school provides the best overall experience.

SDSU - Mostly known for its rep as a party school as well as its business school. I would go to SDSU over UCSD any day. Don't go to school for prestige, it is all about personal fit. I think of this school as a mini UCSB with more students and a football team. The business school is tops and it has some great connections in the area. However, since I haven't visited the campus yet, I'm unsure if I prefer the school to LMU or Pepperdine, but I put it at #2 anyways.

LMU/Pepperdine - These schools are basically the same, except LMU is less strict/religious than Pepperdine. The schools are known for it's campus and views. The schools best programs are business and communications, and they both have great connections in the LA area. The students tend to be really attractive, outgoing, and friendly. Also housing/food is great at both schools.

USD - I don't know that much about the school, but I'm assuming it is just like Pepperdine and LMU. And if I'm assuming correctly it is just as great. And San Diego is the best city in the world.
