Colleges in Columbia?

When one applies to Columbia University, one is supposed to specify which college right? Such as the Fu Foundation or College of Physicians and Surgeons, etc.

Huh? This is a truly absurd question.

haha…ummm i’m gonna assume you are talking about undergrad so you probably mean (Fu Foundation) School of Engineering and applied science or Columbia College…

the college of physicians and surgeons is the med school

…its really amusing how people post questions without even bothering to spend 10 seconds on the columbia website or use the google.

“When one applies to Columbia University, one is supposed to specify which college right? Such as the Fu Foundation or College of Physicians and Surgeons, etc.”

if you’re applying to grad school, you are applying to a specific school. For undergrad you choose either CC or seas (or GS if you’re older), and most of your app is common between CC and seas apart from an essay i think.

Shraf and Columbia2002:
There’s no need to be rude… I thought the whole point of this forum is to help each other; not ridicule people for their mistakes… It’s not like you know everything. And if you do, you shouldn’t even be here in the first place. FYI, I did look through the website, which was the cause of my confusion. I found out that it is a med school eventually; I guess I just posted this question too early.

Thank you confidentialcoll for being polite.

1) There’s no need to be overly sensitive. No one cares about your feelings in real life and calling a professor out for putting rude comments on your paper won’t do anything. 2) They are alums, they do help and, unless the knowledge is particularly outdated, they know enough to warrant their presence here. 3) You just admitted you didn’t do any substantial research before posting your question. That’s the biggest pet peeve of anyone on this forum, posting questions without doing any research.

I’m here because I know everything ;)

Sorry if my comments came out offensive, but yes I am an overly sensitive guy. What I’m trying to say is, everyone makes mistakes, and it’d be nicer to point out those mistakes in a gentle way.

I posted this question because I was confused by the website. I found out after asking a friend from Columbia, but she wasn’t available when I posted the question. I was kind of desperate and trying to grab hold of any possible help asap.

“No one cares about your feelings in real life”
That’s just cold and exactly the it-wouldn’t-hurt-to-be-nicer thing I was refering to.

Columbia2002: I said some things I really didn’t mean to say. My temper gets a hold of me when I become overly sensitive. Sorry I took out my anger here. I honestly appreciate your taking your time out to help us here. I take back what I said. Truly my sincere apologies. Hopefully you won’t take this personally and will continue to offer your suggestions.

Let’s just drop this topic. It really isn’t my intention to proceed this matter any further.

Once again, sorry for letting out my anger this way…
