I am a senior in high school. What are my chances of being accepted into UCs or Cal states? What private schools do you recommend?

GPA:
3.3 weighted, 3.0 unweighted

I have a upward trend.Freshman year: average of 2.6 weighted gpa, Sophomore year: average of 2.9 weighted gpa, Junior year: 1st semester 3.6 weighted and 2nd semester 3.8 weighted gpa
I took 2 AP classes both sophomore and junior year.

SAT: 1860

Community Service: freshman year-200, sophomore year- 200, junior- 350

Extra curricular: Robotics, few club positions, taking community college classes (currently 2), making an art portfolio, went abroad during the summer of sophomore year for environmental and social research, orchestra for 4 years, worked as an art guard at a museum, worked as a tutor,

If you guys can get back to me that would be great!

You can get into all the cal stats.

I do not know if the person above me is kidding but I think he is being blindly optimistic. With your stats I would say you are a low reach for the lower UC schools.

@Bailkun California State schools, not University of California schools. The state schools are much, much, much easier to get into, and I think he can easily get into them.

@Bailkun I think you misread my post?

Non impacted majors and non impacted campuses are fine for OP, but impacted campuses/majors are difficult to gauge.
So, what major are you thinking of? What CSUs?
(Make sure to apply to your area’s CSU as you’re an auto admit even if not necessarily to your major of choice).
UCM and UCR should be okay, do apply. UCSC and UCI are reaches.
However, everything changes if OP intends to apply to impacted majors or engineering.
Is 3.4 your UC GPA or your weighted GPA? If it’s not your UC GPA, calculate it.
Whittier is a match and LMU is within reach.

@TrynaMakeIt @Xandrarius5678 my bad, misread it :)

I think you are a good candidate for UCM - UCR is probably a stretch but, could happen because you have interesting ECs. The other UCs are reaches.
Without a breakout of your SAT and CSU GPA I can’t say for sure but, my gut says you’d make it into most majors at all the CSUs except Cal Poly Slo and SDSU.
You have lots of great choices.
Good luck.

I agree with @NCalRent that you could probably get into most of the Cal States except SDSU, Cal Poly SLO and I would add CSULB. It will depend upon your major. UCR/UCM are possible but a low reach. If you have not calculated your CSU GPA, see link: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

Then calculate your Eligiblity index (EI): (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + SAT CR). Below is a link for EI thresholds for San Jose State (the only Cal state that publishes their EI thresholds) to use for comparison of your intended major.
This will give you a general idea of your chances.

I would definitely recommend applying to 1 or 2 non-impacted Cal state campuses: Channel Islands, San Marcos, Dominguez Hills, Monterey Bay, so you have at least 1 safety. As noted above, also apply to your in-service area Cal state since you will get priority.
