SAT 2030, GPA 3.6 UW and 4.1 W. Top 10% of Class in competitive Northeast H.S. Play in a professional band, 2nd CD being recorded, gigs at known NJ/NY clubs. What colleges might be in range or even a realistic reach? Ruling out Ivies, and Top 5 or 6 LACs. Probably won't continue w/music performance as a career unless luck strikes in a big way. Thinking NYU, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, USC etc. Any others?

More within range/realistic reaches:

BU
Bucknell
Colgate
George Washington

What are you interested in studying?

writing and literature, music–potentially the business side of music. Have experience not only in performing, but composing music and lyrics, engineering and recording, merchandising and marketing, booking, financial management.

Be sure to put “net price calculator” and “financial aid estimator” in each school’s web site search box to check to see if each school is affordable.

NYU has a reputation of poor financial aid and high debt at graduation. High debt is not something that you want to start off a career in music, writing, and/or literature with.

My DS is also interested in USC. His GPA is similiar to yours. He is a junior. Expected SAT scores are predicted to be slightly above yours.

After visiting USC and loving the SoCal area, he has added the following schools, all which give merit to some degree. I don’t know specifics about your chosenn field.
U of Redlands
Chapman U
Loyola Marymont (this one keeps moving on/off list)
U of San Diego

I also know that Drexel has a Music Industry program with internerships. They also have a record label. Your stats should get merit at Drexel. It is under the Media Arts College.
