Do colleges look at the number of schools in which you apply to? Would it not look better to apply to a few schools in order for colleges to be more confident in accepting you as their yield rate would be greater?

To my knowledge, schools do not have knowledge of the other institutions you will be applying to. Although, I have seen a few schools ask on the supplemental section of the CA what other schools have you applied to.

I understand your point but I highly doubt one applicant will have an advantage because they’re only applying to Yale when the other one also applied to Harvard.
